Boiler

When I purchased my car it had the shell for a boiler. Someone had started making the boiler and never finished it. I was not sure about the quality of construction of the boiler and decided to start with a new professionally built boiler.

I purchased a new boiler from Alan Kelso.
The model 63 originally came with an 18 inch diameter by 14 inch high boiler.
I was advised that I might like to put in a slightly larger boiler so that I would have more steam power reserve.
I had a 20 inch by 14 inch boiler made for my by Alan Kelso.

I also bought a new burner. Alan Kelso made me a Baker burner with a Maxwell Pilot. A Maxwell pilot is also called a Coleman pilot because it is made from the valve from a Coleman camping stove.

Ken Maxwell of Tucson Arizona designed and made this type of pilot light valve in the 1950s and 1960s. I believe he may have done some of the metal work on my car as he was good friend with the person who was restoring this car in the mid-1960s.
